Who is Dimitri Van den Bergh?

Dimitri Van den Bergh is a trailblazer for darts in Belgium, having won a pair of major titles on the PDC circuit. ‘The Dream Maker’ made history in 2020 when he won the World Matchplay, a victory which saw him become the first Belgian to win a PDC major title. Van den Bergh followed up that success by lifting the UK Open in 2024.

In 2014, Van den Bergh topped the PDC Youth Tour Order of Merit to earn a two-year tour card to play on the PDC’s senior circuit. The Belgian’s rise continued in 2017 when he won the PDC World Youth Championship, before reaching the quarter-finals of the PDC World Darts Championship a month later.

Van den Bergh wrote his name into the record books in 2018 when he retained the World Youth Championship, becoming the first player to win the PDC’s premier youth title in back-to-back years. ‘The Dream Maker’ then made his big breakthrough in the senior ranks in 2020 by winning the World Matchplay, before doubling his major tally with a triumph at the UK Open in Minehead four years later. Van den Bergh has also played in two full seasons of the Premier League, finishing in fifth place in 2021 and in sixth spot in 2023.

The darts Dimitri Van den Bergh currently uses are his signature Target Dimitri Van den Bergh G2 Darts. Van den Bergh’s Generation 2 darts are made of a 90% tungsten material and have been designed in collaboration with ‘The Dream Maker’ to meet his exact requirements.

This Van den Bergh darts set includes a combination of radial grooves at the rear and center of the barrel, with a section of nano grooves at the front of the barrel providing extra grip. This mixture of grip patterns helps Van den Bergh to grip the dart perfectly every time. The Belgian opts for a 23g dart weight, with his Generation 2 dart also available in slightly lighter (21g) and heavier (25g) weights too.

Van den Bergh’s G2 darts come complete with a set of Target Pro Grip Shafts and his signature No. 2 flights. These darts also come fitted with the Target brand’s Swiss Point interchangeable point system, which allows players to switch the points in their darts in seconds.
