Who is Mickey Mansell?

Mickey Mansell has been a mainstay on the PDC tour for more than 15 years now, winning his tour card in the inaugural Q-School back in 2011. The ‘Clonoe Cyclone’ made his debut in the PDC World Darts Championship at the end of that year, before making three appearances in the prestigious World Grand Prix from 2012 to 2014.

Mansell also represented Northern Ireland in the PDC World Cup of Darts in four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015, reaching the semi-finals in 2014 as well as a pair of quarter-finals whilst partnering up with Brendan Dolan. In 2018, Mansell won his maiden title on the PDC ProTour, defeating the two-time world champion Adrian Lewis 6-4 in the final of Players Championship 8.

Despite dropping out of the top 64 in the world rankings on a few occasions, the Northern Irishman has twice won back his PDC tour card at Q-School at the first time of asking in both 2017 and 2022. Mansell’s biggest run in front of the television cameras was at the 2024 Grand Slam of Darts, where he went all the way to the semi-finals. It was a run that pushed the ‘Clonoe Cyclone’ to the brink of the top 40 in the world.
